The troubles of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel are continuously increasing. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made him an accused in the Mahadev App scam. The CBI has included Baghel's name in the FIR in the case related to the 6000 crore online betting scam. This development has happened at a time when a week ago the agency raided 60 locations in four states, including Baghel's residence, the houses of some bureaucrats and police officers.

Bhupesh Baghel Named in FIR

The FIR states that the owners of Mahadev Book App paid huge amounts of money as protection money to police officers, administrative officers and influential political persons so that no action is taken against their illegal activities. This money was sent to the police and administrative officers through hawala and then reached senior police officers and influential political persons. In this way, many police and administrative officers misused their position to benefit themselves.

Bhupesh Baghel’s Name Surfaces in CBI’s Accused List

The agency had filed an FIR in the case on December 18, 2024 and Hindustan Times was the first to report on January 21 that the CBI had also made Baghel an accused after taking over the investigation from the Chhattisgarh Police. Bhupesh Baghel said on this, 'I am not aware of the CBI's FIR. I will respond only after getting the details of the FIR.'
